Jasminum Sessiliflorum

Climbing Shrub. Leaves simple, elliptic – oblong, 2.5 x 1.5cm, Subcoriaceous, base truncate, apex apiculate; lower pairs smaller; petioles to 3cm. Cymes: Corymboid, sessile, flowers white, bracts linear, 3mm, pedicel to 3-5mm. Calyx: lobes 5-7, linear – subulate, 1.2cm, acute. Corolla 2 cm across; tube 1cm; lobes 5-8, oblanceolate, 1.3cm, acute. Stamens: 2, included, filaments 2mm; anthers 3mm, apiculate. Ovary 1mm; style 2mm; stigma bifid, ovary 2called, ovules usually 2 in each cell, attached near the base. Fruit: Berry globose, 0.7cm across.

Flowers: March –May.
Distribution: Cultivated in gardens.
